“I have a job to finish!" – Cheryle Perkins for 160th District

"In 2025 I stood firm against the Missouri State Tax Commission in not implementing the 12% value increase they wanted me to apply across the county.

“As Newton County Assessor, the Commission and I worked together to make SB190, the senior citizen tax freeze, available for the tax year of 2025.”

Cheryle’s Commitment to You

“With 23 years in the Newton County Assessor’s office, 13 years as a deputy and 10 years as the Assessor, I will be taking years of local government experience to the State Capitol.

“When you elect me as your representative of the 160th District, you will continue to get my heart for strong public service for always doing what is right for the people of Missouri. My top priorities in January when I arrive at the Capitol are to ensure a fair and just taxing policy is in place with the Hancock Amendment.

“I also plan to have the appointed State Tax Commission forced to do their job of listening to the appeals of the taxpayers, and to prevent the State Tax Commissioners from forcing the assessor to raise taxes unfairly.

“Know that I will always be available to hear your concerns as your State Representative just as I have been as your Assessor.

‍ ‍“I ask for your vote on August 4th as I have a job to finish.”

Cheryle has Big Ideas, Real Impact.

“Another passion of mine will be to see mental hospitals stationed in multiple parts of the state. Jail is not where the mentally disabled belong, but there are not enough mental health treatment facilities.

“Individuals are frequently admitted to care facilities throughout the state to receive treatment away from their families. This is not only trying on the family members but the taxpayers also.”

A Public Servant

“Public Service is strong in our family, and as a widow myself, I understand the tight budget of a fixed and single-income household and trying to make ends meet.

“I am a member at Forest Park Church in Joplin and belong to civic groups that support and sponsor foster children and adult education.”
